The DVDRip format cannot do justice to Garrone’s visual storytelling. The cinematography by Marco Onorato (who also shot Gomorrah ) uses long, voyeuristic takes that mimic surveillance cameras. The vibrant marketplace scenes and the oppressive whiteness of the Cinecittà studio backlot demand high definition or a proper Blu-ray master.
