The story begins in the forest kingdom of Tyto, where a young Barn Owl named Soren lives a peaceful life listening to his father’s tales of the legendary Guardians—a mythical order of warrior owls who fought a great evil in the past.

They view “rusties” (brown owls) and lower classes as slaves or inferiors to be eliminated.
