Kalnirnay was, until the late 2000s, a paper-only product. Annual editions were printed in the millions, but they were considered disposable by design. At the end of 1986, most copies were either thrown away, used as wrapping paper, or decayed in humid Indian monsoons. Libraries rarely archive almanacs due to their "practical, non-literary" status.
