The Menschen (Hueber) series is a gold standard for German as a Foreign Language. The A2.1 level bridges the gap between basic survival phrases (A1) and more complex conversations about the past and future (A2.2). However, the Kursbuch (coursebook) is famously dense with open-ended tasks, listening comprehension, and grammatical inference exercises.
