The story follows Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds), a "housekeeper" for a CIA safe house in Cape Town, South Africa. Frustrated by his lack of action, his world is turned upside down when Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington), a legendary CIA operative turned international criminal, is brought in for interrogation.
