Windows: Vista Tiny
For users with modern (for the time) hardware—dual-core CPUs, 4GB of RAM, and dedicated graphics cards—Vista was a luxurious, glass-themed experience. But for the vast majority of the installed base, running older single-core machines with 512MB or 1GB of RAM, Vista was a slideshow. The constant hard drive thrashing and sluggish response times became the stuff of internet memes.
Using Vista Tiny was like living in a glass house with no locks on the doors. It was fast and beautiful, but inherently fragile. A Legacy of Tinkering windows vista tiny
