Once inside the walls of "The Istanbul Correctional Facility" (a cleverly disguised Eastern European soundstage), the film delivers what the title promises. The "Heat" refers not just to the oppressive climate, but to the sexual tension, the brutality, and the eventual explosive violence. The women must band together, using their wits and martial arts skills (acquired conveniently off-screen), to survive shower room shakedowns, forced labor, and a gladiatorial-style fight club.
