Most guitarists learn the "PIMAMI" arpeggio pattern. Assad’s No. 1 retains the rolling arpeggio but throws the left hand into a nightmare of extended stretches (10ths and 12ths). Simultaneously, the right hand must alternate between apoyando (rest stroke) and tirando (free stroke) within the same beat.
