Ariel Academy-s Secret School Festival < 2026 Release >

To understand the magic, you have to go back. According to alumni lore, began in 2007, when a group of theater students were given Saturday detention for spray-painting a mural of Shakespeare on the gymnasium wall. Bored and restless, they snuck a portable speaker into the custodial closet, shared a single bag of chips, and staged an impromptu "festival" of monologues, music, and dance.

If you are a current student at Ariel Academy, you likely already know how to find the festival. But for prospective students, curious parents, or nostalgic alumni, here is what we can share: Ariel Academy-s Secret School Festival

🎟️ Students unlocked clues to find pop-up art studios, secret poetry readings, a glow-in-the-dark library maze, and an underground talent showcase (yes, UNDER the stage!). To understand the magic, you have to go back

"I’ve been to real music festivals," said Jasmine K., a junior and one of this year’s lead organizers. "Coachella. Lollapalooza. They’re fine. But they feel fake. Everything is sponsored. Everything is optimized for Instagram. At our festival, no one is performing for a camera. Everyone is just... there. Together. In a parking garage. Eating a stale brownie. And it’s perfect." If you are a current student at Ariel

Held in the boiler room (temperature warning signs are humorously left intact), this slam draws the school’s most talented writers. Past winners have gone on to win national youth poetry competitions. This year’s theme: "Forbidden Words."

And if you are a parent reading this: no, you cannot attend. Not even as a chaperone. That is the one rule even the teachers respect.
