The search term (often a misspelling of the Latin/Greek Dæmonologia or Daemonologia ) generally refers to digital copies (PDFs) of historical or academic texts concerning the study of demons, demonic hierarchies, and the theological or occult frameworks surrounding evil spirits.
Not all historical texts on demons were written to encourage fear. Johann Weyer, a Dutch physician often considered the father of modern psychiatry, wrote De Praestigiis Daemonum (On the Illusions of Demons) in 1563.
