3670 [upd] — Windows Longhorn Build
Windows Longhorn Build 3670, compiled on August 19, 2002, is a pre-reset Milestone 3 (M3) snapshot built on Windows Server 2003 code that introduced early, unstable GUI changes and foundational WinFS elements. This build, positioned between leaks 3663 and 3683, featured a revamped Windows Explorer with "pivot" functionality, a "My Hardware" management pane, and early visual changes. Build 3670 was a small step in that journey. Eventually, the code became so bloated and unstable that Microsoft had to development in 2004, throwing away years of work to start over with what eventually became Windows Vista .
