Cybersecurity threats evolve daily. TSplus 17.10.2.20 introduces stricter RDP security policies by default. The update modifies how the gateway handles brute-force attacks on ports, automatically adding IPs to a blocklist after a configurable number of failed attempts. It also improves TLS 1.2/1.3 compliance, ensuring that older, insecure protocols are not used for client-gateway communication.
TSplus has just released two critical updates that address both pillars head-on. Version of the core TSplus Remote Access suite, alongside Version 5.5.219.1 of the Server Monitoring tool, are now available for download.
The core TSplus application has been fine-tuned for high-volume environments. Here are the key changes:
TSplus acts as an alternative to Microsoft RDS, providing application publishing and web-enabled desktop access.
Version 17.10.2.20 does not change the licensing model. Both the core TSplus license and the Server Monitoring module (often sold as an add-on) will continue to work with existing license keys. However, if your maintenance plan has expired, you will need to renew to access these new versions.
Verify that native Windows RDS or Terminal Services roles are removed to prevent conflict before installing.
After upgrading to 17.10.2.20, run the TSplus Support Tool to reset Web Server permissions. This prevents a rare "403 Forbidden" error on fresh installs.
