Resident Evil 2 Fatal D3d Error-
Disable Preloader

The "Fatal D3D Error" essentially means that the game engine (RE Engine) sent a request to your graphics card, and the request was denied, timed out, or caused a conflict that the engine couldn't recover from.

Few gaming experiences are as tense and terrifying as the Raccoon City Police Department. The moans of the undead, the shattering of glass, and the relentless pursuit of Mr. X keep players on the edge of their seats. However, nothing breaks that immersion faster than a sudden crash to the desktop accompanied by the dreaded message:

After a 2022 update, Capcom made DirectX 12 the default, which introduced ray tracing but caused stability issues for many. Switching back to the DX11 version often fixes the crash immediately.
