The Snapdragon 200 (MSM8212) in the T1 8.0 is sluggish by modern standards. Stock EMUI is bloated. Custom AOSP (Android Open Source Project) ROMs strip away the Huawei launcher, background processes, and useless apps, freeing up the 1GB of RAM for actual tasks.

Google designed "Go Edition" for 1GB RAM devices. This port for the MediaPad T1 8.0 is experimental but impressive.
