Hollywood FX (by Pinnacle Systems / PVS) is an older transition/broadcast effects engine. It works as a plugin for EDIUS if correctly installed. Some modern EIDUS versions (especially EDIUS X) may have limited or no native support unless using legacy bridge.
Setting up Pinnacle Hollywood FX (HFX) within EDIUS via the PVS (Pinnacle Video System) workflow involves bridging older 32-bit plugins into EDIUS's modern 64-bit environment. This is typically achieved using or NewBlue OFX Bridge as a host for the legacy effects. Prerequisites
You need a "Wrapper" or "Bridge." The most reliable is the HFX 6.0 to 64-bit Adapter (often called the "VST Adapter" but modified for transitions).
For Edius users, integrating Hollywood FX adds a layer of visual effects that are often difficult to create natively without keyframing complex 3D moves from scratch.
If the plugins are not found, you may need to point your host software to the HFX directory: Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Pinnacle\Hollywood FX . Ensure the .hfx and .dll files are present.
