This is the holy grail for fans. In the theatrical cut, Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) is chased by police and dives into a parking lot. In the extended cut, Reese hides in a department store. He steals a pair of shoes and—crucially—a camera flash bulb . Later, when Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) asks how he plans to stop the Terminator, Reese holds up the flash bulb and explains he's going to overload its optical sensor.
