The primary antagonists who always try to ruin Shaun’s plans.

Shaun uses an ingenious disguise to retrieve a football from the farmhouse.

The writers lean heavily into visual callbacks. One episode uses intertitles (title cards) ironically. Another recreates the famous pie fight from The Great Race . Season 3 assumes its audience has seen Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd—and it rewards them for it.

Technically, the animation is smoother. The character models for Shaun, Bitzer, and the Farmer appear slightly refined, allowing for more expressive facial ticks. The lighting in the sets also seems more dynamic, utilizing the natural light of the outdoor sets to create mood—whether it’s the harsh midday sun during a game of cricket or the eerie glow of a pizza delivery scooter at night.

The season opener is a direct parody of The Walking Dead —but with hypnotism. Shaun accidentally hypnotizes the flock into standing completely still in the field. The Farmer thinks they’ve died. The vet is called. Chaos ensues when Bitzer the dog tries to “un-statue” his friends. It sets the tone immediately: high-concept, perfectly timed visual gags.
