“The Smart 30 doesn’t use a universal ‘one-driver-fits-all’ model. Instead, its driver behavior changes drastically depending on whether you’re using Windows 10/11 in driver signature enforcement mode, or if you’re running it through virtualized USB redirection (like Citrix or RDP). In many cases, the printer will appear to install correctly but will reject printing until you manually replace the bundled USB driver with an older, unsigned version — which Windows 10/11 actively blocks by default unless you restart with ‘Disable Driver Signature Enforcement’ enabled. Once you bypass that, the printer works flawlessly… until a Windows update quietly reverts the USB stack and breaks it again.”
