Based on the play by Dušan Kovačević, the story follows an elderly archeologist who suffers a clinical death and finds himself in a "collection center"—a waiting room for the deceased. Here, he encounters long-gone relatives and townspeople who are still tethered to the living world by their unresolved regrets and the actions of those they left behind.
