Over the years, AutoCAD has become bloated with features aimed at 3D modeling, cloud collaboration, and parametric design. For a drafter who strictly does 2D floor plans or simple mechanical parts, the interface of AutoCAD 2005 is faster and less cluttered. It represents a "pure" CAD experience before the ribbon interface was introduced in later versions.
