For younger audiences, Storm is a cool bad guy. For adults, he is the fresh-faced intern who knows Photoshop while you are still learning Excel. Storm represents the corporate shift away from experience toward data. When he taunts McQueen with the line, “This is a young car’s sport,” he isn’t gloating. He is stating a fact.
The film was also a commercial success, grossing over $383 million worldwide. While it did not quite match the box office performance of the first two films, "Cars 3" still performed well, particularly in the United States.
