In a role that could have easily been relegated to the "tragic heroine," Sushmita Sen shines. Her transformation from a suicidal patient to a feisty, pretend wife is delightful. The scene where she threatens to expose Sameer’s lies while smiling sweetly at his mother is a masterclass in comedic duality. She proved that a Miss Universe could do slapstick just as well as high drama.
