The late Sayaka Kanda (who tragically passed away in 2021) was the soul of the franchise in Japan. Her Anna is bubblier and more childlike than Kristen Bell’s, yet her dramatic turn in the song "The Next Right Thing" is widely considered the definitive version of that ballad. Kanda’s ability to shift from manic optimism to raw, choked grief in the dark cave scene solidified the as superior by many critics.
