The PS3 version of Frontier G didn’t just read files from a disc. It streamed data constantly from Capcom’s servers. To spoof that locally, you need a modified PS3 (CFW or HEN) and a repacked HDD image. One wrong edit to the EBOOT.BIN , and the console hard-locks.

Japanese text uses Kanji and Kana. English uses Latin characters. The game’s font texture atlas (the image file holding every character) was tiny. Replacing it with a full ASCII set meant redesigning every text box, menu button, and dialog window to prevent text clipping.

As of early 2026, the PS3 version of Frontier G (and its later iterations like Frontier Z) can be partially translated using fan-made assets.
