Speedrunners had been using a system date/time exploit to respawn certain weapons and ore deposits without waiting for Blood Moons. Update 1.6.0 severed the link between the Switch’s clock and in-game respawn timers for specific rare items (like the Hylian Shield). This forced runners to find new routes. botw update 1.6.0
