Raees stars Shah Rukh Khan in a gritty, massy avatar as a bootlegger who rises from the narrow lanes of Gujarat to become a powerful don. The film delivers solid entertainment with SRK’s charismatic performance, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s sharp cat-and-mouse game as the cop, and Mahira Khan’s graceful presence. The dialogues are punchy, and the action sequences are well-choreographed, especially the climax.
