⚠️ Critical Warning: This process is not official from Samsung. It involves unlocking the bootloader, installing a custom recovery, and flashing a community-built ROM (likely LineageOS 14.1). Your tablet will be wiped (all data lost). Proceed only if you understand the risks of bricking your device.
📥 Step 1: Download Required Files Create a folder on your PC desktop called Tab2_Nougat . 🛠️ Step 2: Prepare Your Tablet
Charge battery to at least 70%. Enable Developer Options : Go to Settings → About tablet → Tap “Build number” 7 times . Enable USB Debugging & OEM Unlock : Developer options → USB debugging ON + OEM unlocking ON . Backup your photos, contacts, and files (they will be erased). Download Samsung Tab 2 10.1 Gt-p5100 Android 7.1.2
🔓 Step 3: Install TWRP Recovery (via Odin)
Turn off your tablet. Boot into Download Mode : Press and hold Volume Down + Power simultaneously. Press Volume Up when warned. Open Odin3 on your PC as Administrator. Connect tablet to PC via USB cable. In Odin, the ID:COM port should turn blue (or show “Added”). In Odin, click the AP button and select the twrp-*.tar file.
Ensure Auto Reboot is unchecked . Ensure F. Reset Time is checked. ⚠️ Critical Warning: This process is not official
Click Start . Wait for “PASS!” (green box). After flash, force reboot to recovery : Press Volume Down + Power for 10 seconds → as soon as screen goes black, quickly press Volume Up + Power to enter TWRP.
⚙️ Step 4: Flash Android 7.1.2
In TWRP, go to Wipe → Advanced Wipe → Select: Proceed only if you understand the risks of
Dalvik / ART Cache System Data Cache (Do NOT wipe Internal Storage if you have the ROM file there) → Swipe to wipe.
If needed : Flash repart.zip first (follow XDA instructions for P5100).
