Unlike the RPG-heavy, cutscene-driven approaches of modern titles, PES 2017’s BAL focuses strictly on the football. You create a player, start as a substitute in a lower-tier team, and must earn your spot in the starting XI. The mode is famous for its brutal difficulty and realistic progression.
