In a standard blood sample, FSC-A and SSC-A (which measures internal complexity/granularity) can distinguish between different leukocyte types:
FSC-A tells you about size; tells you about granularity/complexity. Never gate on FSC-A alone. Always use a bivariate plot of FSC-A vs. SSC-A .
