Unlike Pokémon where you simply catch creatures, Legend of Arcadia introduces the "Rebirth" system. When you defeat a wild Zoid, you collect its "Core Data." Once you have enough data, you can purchase a new Zoid from the shop. The ROM preserves complex upgrade trees that allow you to equip Leg Parts for speed, Armor Parts for defense, and Burst Weapons for devastating special attacks.
