Choose partition scheme (most older Windows 7 machines use BIOS/Legacy, not UEFI). Click Start . Step 3: Boot Your PC Insert the USB into the target computer.

A "Live CD" (or Live USB) is a bootable media that contains a fully functional operating system that runs entirely from the RAM of the computer. It does not require installation onto the hard drive.

If your goal is simple system recovery (fixing boot errors, restoring from backup), you do not need a complex custom Live CD. You can create an official Microsoft Recovery Environment using any working Windows 7 computer.
