In severe cases, you might smell unburnt fuel from the exhaust or notice a slight loss of power on uphill grades.

The OCV is located on the top front of the engine. A failing OCV can cause erratic VVT operation. Replace with OEM part (PE01-14-420A). Also check the oil pressure solenoid screen for debris. p117a mazda
