Formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey, Skid Row consisted of vocalist Sebastian Bach, guitarists Dave "Snake" Sabo and Gary "Lump" Luz and then later on Steve "Stevie" Young, bassist Rob Affuso, and drummer Billy Greer. The band's early sound was characterized by their raw, aggressive energy and Bach's powerful vocals. After signing with Atlantic Records in 1987, Skid Row released their debut album, "Skid Row," in 1988. The album was a commercial success, thanks in part to the hit singles "18 and Life" and "I Remember You."
