Even on stable 4.90, you may encounter hiccups. Here are fixes:
Before installing multiMAN, your PS3 must already be running a software exploit. This depends on your console model: Custom Firmware (CFW): multiman ps3 4.90
Get multiMAN 04.85.01 BASE from Brewology. It works on 4.90 CFW/HEN. Avoid YouTube "auto-installer" files. Even on stable 4
