"Koutetsu No Majo Annerose Episode 02" explores several themes that are relevant to the series as a whole. One of the most prominent is the idea of empowerment, particularly for women. Annerose and her allies are strong, capable, and determined, using their abilities to fight against a patriarchal society that seeks to oppress them.

Last week, Annerose refused to pilot the machine, horrified by its requirement: a "blood oath" that would fuse her flesh with cold steel. This week, she has no choice. A massive Nebelbruch incursion is detected heading straight for the civilian refugee camp she escaped from in Episode 01.

Episode 02 picks up exactly where the premiere left off.
