The narrative is a modern adaptation of the "Prince and the Pauper" trope, reportedly inspired by the South Korean film Masquerade and Anthony Hope's novel The Prisoner of Zenda .
: Prince Vijay is the target of an assassination plot by his younger brother, Ajay Singh (Neil Nitin Mukesh), who seeks the throne. After Vijay is badly injured, his loyalists substitute him with his lookalike, Prem.
However, their love story is not without its challenges. Pooja is already engaged to another man, and her family will not approve of her relationship with Prem. Despite these obstacles, Prem and Pooja continue to see each other in secret, and their love for each other grows stronger with each passing day.
The supporting cast of the film includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Dimple Kapadia, and Anuradha Paudwal. Siddiqui plays the role of a quirky and humorous character, while Kapadia and Paudwal add a touch of elegance and sophistication to the film.
