The conflict arises when the Bettermans offer to help the Croods find their own “tomorrow,” but secretly want to get rid of them. Meanwhile, Eep and Dawn become best friends, and the teenage love triangle between Eep, Guy (who is now part of the Croods), and the Bettermans’ lifestyle creates emotional tension. The second half of the movie explodes into action when the families must unite against a terrifying new threat: the “Punch Monkeys” — a tribe of militaristic, banana-obsessed primates — and a giant carnivorous spider-monster inside a wall.
