Created by Neil Campbell and Jane Reece, the text was born from Campbell's 30 years of teaching experience and his vision of an "inquiry-based" approach to science. It is currently in its 13th edition and has been translated into over 20 languages, making it a foundational resource in nearly every global scientific community. In the United States, it is used in approximately 90% of AP Biology classes and 60% of introductory college biology courses.
