To understand why naturism works, we must first understand the psychological weight of fabric. From infancy, we are taught that nakedness is vulnerable, sexual, or shameful. Clothing serves as armor. It signals our tribe, our status, our aesthetic tastes, and—crucially—our perceived flaws.
The phrase "nothing to hide" usually refers to honesty. In naturism, it refers to the body. When you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to defend. You stop tensing your stomach when you sit down. You stop crossing your arms over your chest. You stop apologizing for taking up space.
