Windows tries to install a generic USB printing support driver first, which fails.
This driver will only work for basic printing . Do not expect scanning features (the Phaser 3116 is print-only anyway) or advanced toner level monitoring to work perfectly. But for standard black and white documents? It works like a charm.
This is critical. If you plug the USB cable in now, Windows Update will try (and fail) to find a Xerox driver.
