The serial number is almost always located on the receiver. Open the action (slide the pump handle rearward) and look inside the receiver, often on the left side or the top tang (the metal part that extends into the stock). On newer models, it may be stamped on the side of the receiver near the loading port. Often features a "UM" prefix (e
